Ferndown is a relatively young town in comparison to its neighbouring towns and villages but boasts a wealth of shops and services available to visitors.
Your shopping experience can also include lunch at one of the many pubs, restaurants or cafes in the town centre, and a walk to Millennium Park garden, and leisure areas.
Surrounding Ferndown town centre are various large garden centres which attract many visitors to our beautiful, rural area. Surrounding areas include many places to walk and view the local country side and wildlife: places such as Slop Bog, Uddens, Moors Valley Country Park, Knoll Gardens, Castleman Trailway and the Avon Country Park to name a few.
Ferndown is also host to three golf courses, Dudsbury, Ferndown and Ferndown Forest, one of which, is an international competition venue bringing golfing personalities from all over the world. All are in stunning countryside and offer dining facilities too.
Every July the annual carnival brings people to the town to enjoy the atmosphere, the procession and events on the King George V playing fields. Other annual events include Halloween (Oct/Nov) and the Hollyberry Fayre (Dec) together with the Christmas lights switching on ceremony in the town centre.
The town centre is the attractive Penny’s Walk, which can be instantly recognised by its distinctive clock tower. There are many more shops to visit here and also includes the Barrington Centre which holds daily events and evening shows and exhibitions.
